June 2 Back to South Col 1:00pm

Well, the last person isn’t quite back to the South Col yet, but I figure they are close enough and the conditions are good enough that I can go ahead and send this in anyway. The first climbers arrived at the Col at about 11:30 am, and in about 20 minutes (around 1:30pm) everyone will be sipping tea, eating ramen, and crawling into their sleeping bags. This is when the work of Dorje and Pemba Choti is really appreciated.

And soon I’m going to be climbing into my sleeping bag myself. Thanks are due to the entire team of members, guides, and sherpas who stuck together and had the patience to make it all happen. Congratulations to the climbers who made it to the summit and to the dozens of support people who helped them realize their dream.

Goodnight, Ellie
